As is the norm, a part of us always hunger to know what God’s thoughts for our lives are. Isaiah 55:8-9 KJV says For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. . Here are some principles that we should follow in knowing the thoughts of God.
Let’s start with Prayer.
This helps us to establish a personal connection with God. Ask God what you desire to know and take time to listen for any insights or promptings that may come as a response.
Study the Word:
Immerse yourself in the studying and meditation of the Word of God to better understand what it says per time concerning you. Also, seek wisdom and guidance from these scriptures to help you in your daily life according to James 1:5 (KJV) which says; If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
Seek Spiritual Guidance
It will not be out of sort to seek assistance or guidance from spiritual leaders, mentors that can guide you in areas of confusion. They can offer insights and interpretations of these scriptures you have read and provide explanations based on their understanding of the faith.
Furthermore, take time to Reflect on Personal Convictions: Examine them carefully because often, a sense of inner conviction can align with what believers perceive as God’s leading.
Be Open to Signs and Wonders: Many believers perceive God’s leading through events or what we should consider as signs. Be attentive to the circumstances and opportunities that present themselves, as they might be indications of God’s thoughts and directions for your life
Moreover, as believers we know that God’s spirit can influence our hearts and minds to make right choices.
Stay Patient and Trust in God’s Timing: Remember that understanding God’s thoughts for your life is a process that may take time. Trust in God’s wisdom and timing, and remain patient as the Holy Spirit leads you.
As we conclude, always know that what works for one person may not be the same for another. Keep an open heart and mind in your seeking and understanding God’s thoughts for your life. God bless you.
