How We Pulled Off A Surprise Birthday Celebration For My Girl!

I OBEYED THE VOICE OF GOD

Last week, the Holy Spirit led me to book an unplanned trip to Nashville, Tennessee to help my friend celebrate her Birthday.  Her Birthday was on Saturday August 26th and when I found out that a woman who works so hard Monday to Friday plus weekends to care for her 3 children as a single mom, had a Saturday Birthday and no plans to celebrate herself. 

I believed she deserved to be celebrated and although money is still my biggest problem in this life, I could not shake off the push to do something to celebrate her.

With fear, chest pains and anxiety for where the money will come from, I booked my flight via United  Airline because they have a direct flight ✈️ to Nashville from Houston IAH Airport.

PLANNING THE SURPRISE BIRTHDAY HANGOUT

I called a girlfriend that lived in Nashville, called her daughter to help me plan a surprise and Saturday, I showed up in her house while she was sleeping away her Birthday 😩😩 and when I entered her room to wake her up, she was in shock & disbelief for a long time.

 I was eventually able to get her to close her mouth and get dressed and pretty as you can see by the pictures.

I stayed at The Joseph hotel which is a Marriott Luxury Collection hotel with a beautiful rooftop pool & bar.

First, we celebrated her birthday at home with the children and her family.

 We went to a nice birthday dinner and ate the chef’s tasting dinner at Yolan Restaurant and danced at Illuzion Bar & Lounge to burn off the calories.  Although my credit card is paining me, my heart is overflowing with her happiness on her birthday. 

REACH OUT TO THAT LOVED ONE TODAY

A lot of people are struggling emotionally and mentally in our world today and they include our family and friends. Sometimes while we are so focused on our problems, we hear that a loved one has died and we feel so guilty about not checking up on them for a while.  Please let this post encourage you to check on a loved one today. 

There are too many crazy stories we hear today.  Just yesterday, I heard a friend of a friend Killed his wife of over 20 years who he has 5 children with.  Now mother is dead and father is in jail.  Our world is so hard and we are all struggling, but we should continue to push ourselves to shift our focus away from our own struggles to focus on others sometimes, because we never know who maybe just one hug, one kind word, or one nice loving gesture away from their last straw. 

I struggle greatly with depression, and I talk to this my friend a lot when I feel bad about something but I was not aware that she herself get depressed and when she told me that she would have spent her birthday feeling sorry for herself and maybe crying, I knew why God pushed me to go and why I needed to share this story with you and encourage us to love our family and friends even when it hurts our pocket💚
